Dominican Liturgical Center

We strive to ensure that we can all consciously participate in a beautiful liturgy. We provide information, opinions and materials that broaden the understanding of the sacraments. We create objects that emphasize the content and dignity of the liturgical celebration, as well as high-quality products that allow us to experience faith with joy and pride every day.

We organize a community of people involved in the renewal of the liturgy. We promote and continue the achievements of people involved in celebrating, studying and caring for the beauty of the liturgy. First of all, we collect and promote the works of those who create and work at Dominican monasteries. We meet clergy and laity, composers and people who cultivate old traditions, practitioners and those who approach the issue of celebration theoretically. We want not only to talk about the liturgy, but to celebrate it ourselves.

For years, we have been organizing the Extraordinary Music Workshops during the summer, which gather around three hundred enthusiasts of liturgical singing in Krakow for a week. September has been the largest liturgical retreat in Poland, Mysterium fascinans, for over a decade, in which another two hundred people combine the celebration of the beautiful liturgy with scientific reflection on it. The fruit of these retreats is a book series of the same title, which we started publishing with the WAM Publishing House, including key books on the subject of liturgy that have not been available in Polish so far. Recently, we have also been organizing Liturgical Retreats for Families, which are mainly attended by married couples with small children from all over Poland during Lent.

We run the School of Cantors, a two-year course for leaders of singing in liturgical communities. We are active in the virtual space, running the Liturgia.pl service, whose task is to popularize knowledge about the liturgy and provide practical tools for its preparation; as well as creating thematic services, podcasts and other internet projects. We organize conferences, seminars and meetings devoted to, among others, the theology of the liturgy, church music or sacred art.
